The answer is…it depends! Your HSA account belongs to you in a bank account under your name with your funds. No one else can remove or transfer these funds. The question is, can you continue to use your HSA through Rippling if your company leaves Rippling.
Yes – if the company is still using Rippling for some other services, even if they’ve canceled HSA, because you will still have an account in Rippling. At this point you would receive a new HSA card if the company has cancelled HSA services.
No – if the company cancels all Rippling services, the HSA account stays in your name but you will not be able to use Rippling services for spending or filing claims; you’ll need to transfer funds to another HSA custodian for using services going forward.
